The current stipend for graduate teaching associates (GTA) is $20,000/year for a twelve-month appointment. Students receiving fellowships will receive stipends of no less than $20,000/year. In addition, tuition is paid by the University for all students receiving a fellowship or GTA from Ohio State. The GTA's duties involve approximately eight student contact hours plus grading and preparation time each week. The eight contact hours include a combination of recitation sections, laboratory periods and office hours. For example, in the general chemistry program, most GTA's lead two one-hour recitation sections, one three-hour lab and hold two hours of office hours each week.
